On day one play Knockanally, before driving to Maynooth for dinner and accommodation at the Glenroyal Hotel. Day two begins with breakfast at the Glenroyal and then drive to Rathcore Golf Club for your second round of Golf. For those of you on the 1 Night Short Stay package your holiday ends here, if you book the 2 Night Relaxation option please return to the Glenroyal for another night, bed and breakfast. Don't forget that the use of leisure facilities at the hotel such at sauna, steam room, swimming pool, and gym are at no extra cost.
The clubhouse is a charming old estate house, and a really nice place to sit before or after your round. The members are just as endearing and I ended up taking some photographs from the roof! This classic parkland moves around the clubhouse, there's plenty to keep you interested, beware of the 11th.
The location here is very good, easily within walking distance of the centre of Maynooth, putting bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Great leisure facilities with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, two swimming pools (one adults only) and a huge gym.
Rathcore Golf Club One of my favourite courses, a little off the beaten track but definitely worth it. Each hole is interesting, loads of water, wildlife, and even history as you have to play around some old raths and forts! Beautifully finished clubhouse with some impressive stonework and a nice area to sit out if the weather permits.
